2. How will Caroline Springs Tutoring help my child?

At Caroline Springs Tutoring, we understand that all students learn and understand things in different ways, hence why, our tutors develop a tailored lesson plan for each student no matter what stage they are at in their academic journey.

We focus on building and strengthening the foundation for each student so that they will be able to apply their abilities to any kind of questions they are faced with. We may start off with easier work to build up their confidence and to consolidate their soft skills, then when we find that they are ready, we will move them onto more advanced concepts and help the students get ahead of their schoolwork.

3. Can Caroline Springs Tutoring help my child catch up if they are behind at school?

Yes, we can. At the beginning of each lesson, students are given a short assessment so that our tutors can gain an overview of your child’s strengths and areas that need improvement. From there, we will focus on developing the soft skills that are needed day-to-day so that the student feels accomplished and motivated to challenge themselves to do more, academically.

4. Does Caroline Springs Tutoring follow a specific programme?

All the tutors at Caroline Springs Tutoring are up to date with the VCAA Victorian Curriculum and follow that as a guideline to teach the students. As each student has their own strengths and areas that need improvement, the tutors will allocate and teach work appropriate to their needs. In saying that, rest assured that your child will work closely with the curriculum guidelines to keep up with what they are learning at school.

5. What are the qualifications of the tutors at Caroline Springs Tutoring?

  • All of our tutors have the following qualifications:
  • A valid Working with Children’s Check
  • VCE certificate with an ATAR of 90+
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills
  • Have great knowledge of subject content in VCE English, and at least one of the following Mathematics subjects: Further Maths, Maths Methods, or Specialist Maths
  • Updated with the current Education Curriculum for Primary and Secondary

 6. Can I choose which tutor I want for my child?

Each of our tutors are specialised in their own areas and we will allocate students to who we think would be the best fit.  Nevertheless, if there is a particular tutor that you want, we will try our best to rearrange the classes to suit your preferences. This will be subject to the class size and tutor’s availability

7. Can my child bring in their own work?

Definitely! We highly recommend that students bring in any school work that they have. This will ensure that their work is completed at a high standard before submitting it to their teacher at school and to also get a headstart on activities prior to their school lesson. In saying that, we will always have a lesson prepared for students that don’t bring in their own work.

8. What do students need to bring for each session?

Primary students are recommended to bring the following:

  • Stationary (i.e. pens, grey lead pencil, eraser, sharpener, highlighters etc.)
  • 1 x insert binder folder
  • 3 x lined, binder books
  • Plastic pockets
  • Any English and/or Maths school homework that students need help with

Secondary students are recommended to bring the following:

  • Stationary including the appropriate calculator
  • Any English and/or Maths school homework that students need help with
  • School textbooks associated with English and/or Maths subjects
  • Insert binder folder
  • Plastic pockets
  • Exercise books

9. Are the students in the group all in the same year level?

Our groups are organised based on the student’s academic levels rather than year level. For example, a class of four Grade 5 students may also have a Grade 4 student who is currently advanced in their studies. This allows students to work through the same content together and receive the same amount of attention from their tutor.

10. What if my child cannot attend a tutoring session?

We understand that students have other commitments and unforeseen circumstances can occur, therefore, we do allow students to make up a lesson by booking in another session during the week. We will try our best to allocate your child with the same tutor, however, this may not always be possible due to the class size and the tutor’s availability.
